Research development and administrative professional dedicated to improving the processes and systems of grants administration and development. Expertise in cancer biology, facilitation of transdisciplinary collaborations, scientific mentoring and training, and research and patient advocacy. I posses the strong interpersonal skills necessary to build robust and fruitful working relationships in all settings.

Iā€™m currently the Director of Research Administration at the UNC-CH College of Arts and Sciences. I lead a team of shared services research administration and development professionals who provide holistic, cradle to grave support of grants within the College of Arts and Sciences.

I was previously the Assistant Director of Collaborative Science at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Using my expertise in cancer biology and population science to, I helped to inform and support team science initiatives and secure program project funding for those initiatives. Prior to that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Control Education at the UNC-CH Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. My research focused on the tumor immune microenvironment and how it may modify breast cancer mortality disparities. I received my PhD in cancer biology at Duke University, studying the role of the tumor microenvironment in breast cancer dormancy and recurrence.

When I'm not working, I volunteer with the American Cancer Society, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue, and I am a Peer Navigator, Patient Advocate Leader, Project Volunteer, Contract Science Writer and Outreach Leader for the Triangle for FORCE. I also enjoy time with my dog Sadie and husband Nihal, hiking, taking care of my plants, and baking for my coworkers, friends and family.
